On our way back from Indiana after Thanksgiving, I looked into the windows of the cars as we went alongside each other. Some were like Zombies, watching the road without expression. Others were engaged in deep conversations. Some were yelling at their children to get them to stop fighting. One person stood out among them all. It was a young woman who was singing at the top of her lungs. She had some song on her radio that caused her to sing and smile. I thought she looked a little strange at first but then she looked over and she had the biggest grin as she stared directly at me probably singing louder. She had no fear of anyone seeing her, she simply had pure joy and her car was probably the most fun out of all of us driving that day. Why don’t we sing more? Why don’t we offer our praises to God in song every day? That young woman was filled with joy and I wanted some of that joy. I have to admit, I did not sing in that car but I am singing now. I am singing Pentatonix Christmas songs and I am loud and it is joyful.
